James Ashley Lockhart, Born in Indian Territory, Oklahoma, on April 10, 1895, was a farmer and a carpenter. He worked for the city of Blackwell, Oklahoma. On December 15, 1915, James married Bertha Eugenia Guffie. She was a wonderful wife and mother.

During the 1930’s, they moved to North Hollywood, California where James worked in construction and the film industry. The entire family was musically inclined and talented entertainers. They performed as individuals as well as a group known as the Oklahoma Kids.
